Kev Reynolds - Lectures on the Alps, Pyrenees,
Himalaya and England

Small groups, large groups, after dinner, after lunch, a choice of topics to lighten any occasion, to take you out of the present and convey you to another world . . .

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WALK IN THE WORLD
Trekking to Kangchenjunga, third highest mountain in the world. This epic journey wanders along terraced foothill ridges settled by a variety of hill peoples; it crosses lofty passes and enters the very heartland of the great Himalayan mountains - first experienced on a journalistic assignment timed to coincide with the opening of this corner of the Himalaya to a limited number of Western trekkers, other visits have since been made to research a book about the mountain, and to record a programme for BBC World Service radio.

MONT BLANC TO THE MATTERHORN
If the trek to Kangchenjunga is the most beautiful walk in the world, the two-week journey across the Pennine Alps of Switzerland, from Mont Blanc to the Matterhorn, must surely count among the most visually spectacular in all Europe. Here we look at mountains, glaciers and valleys, the villages and tiny alp hamlets visited along the way.

THE BEST OF KENT
The varied landscapes and historic buildings of the county are studied in this talk. Kent's castles, timbered villages, rivers and coasts; their history and their attraction to visitors today. The lecture grew from researches undertaken in the course of writing
The Visitor's Guide to Kent, a book on the Medway, and four subsequent guidebooks for walkers.

THE BEST OF SOUTHERN ENGLAND
Contrary to a view sometimes expressed, Southern England is not entirely swamped by concrete and brick, nor strangled by a spaghetti-twist of motorways. In fact the countryside has amazing variety. Here we look at the Downs and the Weald, wild coasts and moorland, and the much-loved Cotswolds through a series of images photographed for a range of publications.

These subjects are illustrated with digital images, but non-illustrated talks are also available if required. All equipment (projector, screen etc) can be provided by the speaker. Fees are by arrangement and are linked to the size and type of audience anticipated. Travel expenses (from West Kent) are charged at a low mileage rate.
