Walking In The Valais

To many people THE VALAIS represents the very best of Switzerland. Located in the Pennine Alps, the most notable of its mountains is the Matterhorn which soars above Zermatt. But there's much more to the Valais than this monolithic Toblerone! The Saastal, for example, drains the mountains east of Zermatt, and is itself dominated by huge peaks and terrific walking opportunities. As is the Val d'Anniviers to the west - a mountain-walker's Shangri-La with Zinal at its head. Or maybe Val d'Herens or, on the northern side of the Rhône Valley, the tranquil Lötschental with its romantic alp hamlets and winding trails guarded by the Bietschhorn. These, and lots more, are included in Walking in the Valais.

This is the 4th edition of Walking in the Valais, this popular guidebook has been rewritten and redesigned, with 85 colour photos, new maps and no less than 120 routes described - each one specifically chosen to give a memorable experience.
